Week Two: A Period of Change (1870-1950)

After six long years of fighting, World War II finally came to an end in 1945. The entire country was ecstatic and parties were thrown all over New Zealand to celebrate VE Day (Victory in Europe). Imagine that you were living in New Zealand in 1945 and you had to plan a VE day party at your house. Who would you invite? What would you do to celebrate?

I would invite all of my closest friends and family and some of those people that servived in the war. I would have a big big barbecue and also go for a swim in the beach go to a rastoront and try some new food of coure how wold not eat bugers ,nodals ice cream and of coure some thing to drink and the yammy tasty dary milk chocolate !!!

What would youdo to calabrate ve day (Vicotory in europ)?

  1. Hi Siyona,

My name's Ruby and I'm one of the people who will be blogging with you this summer alongside Hazel.

It sounds like you would have a party with lots of eating! That sounds like a great way to celebrate victory in Europe! It would be a good day to spend with all the people who are celebrating. My Grandpa remembers celebrating VE day by driving through town on the back of his dad's car waving flags and cheering. He says it was a great day!

I look forward to reading more of your blog over summer.
    Cheers,
    Ruby.
